This Week In Music: 18/12/12

I can barely keep track of what day it is, a break from school will do that to you.

• We The Kings - Somewhere Somehow
  As per usual, I'm not well educated on the music but I know that Charles Trippy is in some way involved with this album. I can never quite get into WTK in the winter, they're just a summer band for me but this album is good, nor surprise there. It has a recurring theme of survival, fighting, being strong - I think that's where Charles comes in. He might actually do vocals.
• Nick Santino & The Northern Wind - The Ones You Meet Along The Way
  I just really like him, especially since I saw him play a few weeks back. The Story You Should Tell and Goddamn are really cool tunes.
• Watsky - IDGAF
  This isn't a new song for me, more like a rediscovery. It makes me feel like a badass in all ways and I've been listening to it so much this week because IDGAF.
• Lorde - No Better
  I came across this for free on iTunes a couple days ago and I love Lorde, so this was a bonus. Turns out, it's from the extended cut of Pure Heroine It was just announced that she's playing in Toronto in the new year, hopefully I'll score some tickets to that.
• John O'Callaghan - It Feels Great
  This is a spoken word poem that The Maine posted on their YouTube channel, but I think it's really inspiring and John's voice has a calming effect on me, I think. You should really listen to it, it's got background piano and it reminds me of Taylor Swift's spoken bit from the I Knew You Were Trouble video.
• Jason Derulo - Talk Dirty (feat 2 Chainz)
  I see you side-eyeing. I wasn't going to include this, but ever since One Direction made that ridiculous video to this song, it's been stuck in my head. It probably wouldn't have had a second listen if it didn't give me the mental image of those idiots dancing around their dressing room, like idiots.
• Kelly Clarkson - Silent Night
  This is the iTunes free single of the week, I didn't download it but if you wanted to, this is it. If you read my last post, you'd know I don't care much for Christmas music, especially remakes.
• The 1975 - iTunes Festival EP
  This, again, isn't new but I love it. I love live albums.
