Dan + Shay - Where It All Began | Album Review

I figured this was as good as any to do a full review on, so here are some thoughts and opinions on the debut album!

If you're been here a while or happen to be a brilliant guesser, we're going to go through each track and then I'll give a general summary and conclusion at the end.
  1. Show You Off
    Yeah, I like this one.
  2. Stop Drop + Roll
    Not what you think!
  3. 19 You + Me
This is the first song I ever heard from them, sometime last year and I still love it. The cute lil summertime love story song always gets me.
  4. What You Do To Me
Another story, super catchy chorus and mid-tempo.
  5. Can't Say No
Actually a sweet one about a girl so sweet it's hypnotising. Slower one with a cute acoustic guitar solo.
  6. First Time Feeling
Another song with some typical country boy themes about first love.
  7. Nothin' Like You
Somethin' bout your not-so-average girl. Cute. All I have to say about any of these songs is this: cute.
  8. Somewhere Only We Know
Your typical country song. Reminds me a bit of Hell Raisin' Heat The Of Summer by Florida Georgia Line, music-wise.
  9. Parking Brake
    Another summery country song!
  10. I Heard Goodbye
Ohhh, we've got ourselves a slow one.
  11. Party Girl
Again, not what you think. Another - wait for it - cute one.
  12. Close Your Eyes
This one is so cute and sweet and a very comforting way to end the album. I picture myself listening to this on a rainy Sunday, laying in bed with a significant other (I'll have to get one of those first) just hanging out. I probably picture that because I just described what the song is about.
I'll just mention now - Dan + Shay is a country duo and if you like that kinda stuff, this album might just get put into your car stereo and stay there all summer. I'm sure my dad and older sister will like it too.
I'm pleased with the album and got what I expected. Country isn't my favourite genre so I'm not blown away but I really do like it and can see myself listening to it a bunch (especially since I bought the physical copy and you know how I feel about those). I'll listen to it a bit more and get back to you in tomorrow's This Week In Music with my top 3 or 4 songs!
(I know I wouldn't usually be posting today but I've missed a ton of days lately so I might just be coming at you with 4 days in a row of content!!!)
