I haven't got anything planned from now until the new year, so I thought it was safe to put this out there now!
(in chronological order):
Taylor Swift
The Red Tour was amazing, from the opening acts to the encore. I loved seeing Ed Sheeran open (and join her on the B stage later) and as usual, Taylor put on a great show. The theatrics and circus theme through the whole thing, the costumes, and the stage looked spectacular. Obviously the vocals were on point through the whole show and this kicked off the summer for me (I saw her mid-June) on a lovely note. Some were disappointed that she didn't sing enough old songs but I love the new songs so no complaints here. I think when an artist is big enough to play the Rogers Centre - it's going to be a pretty cool experience. That's one of the things I love about big venue shows: the sets, the ability to really explain what each song is about, how you should feel when listening to it. One thing I'll point out is something simple but during Red the lights changed with every colour she mentioned. I'll stop myself now.
The Maine
I'm not sure I've done a full word vomit about this band, but I saw them for the first time this year and I absolutely loved every minute of it. The big band logo that changed colour with each song will forever be engrained in the back of my mind. I think this concert was a stand-out 1) because I'd waited so long to see them and, 2) The Maine is incredible live. It felt like a proper rock show, the beginning of my friend and I feeling very grown up and mature, going to "big kid" shows. Added note: this was A Rocket To The Moon's last tour as a band, so I was glad I got the chance to see them once.
Bastille
This one was surprising for me, but definitely deserves to be on this list. I wasn't sure what to expect from this band, but they blew me away. They're slowly becoming one of my favourite bands and if/when they come back to my area I'd for sure want to go. I did a full post about this concert, so I'll let that say the rest.
