Terribly disappointed in myself for not posting since last week, I haven't known what to write about but I'm back and I have been listening to some new things!
- Cassadee Pope - Frame By Frame
I mentioned this briefly a few weeks ago, commenting that it was coming out and it has done. She has such a cool voice that suits the country-ish direction she's gone in and I feel much like a proud mother.
Must hear: 11, Easier To Lie, This Car
- Lucy Spraggan - Join The Club
This girl is one of my favourites and I'm in love with this album. Out of everything new I've donwloaded in the past week, her album is what's been played the most. She uses metaphors and double meanings of words so beautifully and I've talked about how I'm a sucker for some clever lyrics. One negative is that she remastered/re-did a few old songs for this album and I honestly preferred them how they were. They sounded better simply acoustic but she's added production and electronics and yeah, I'm not a huge fan.
Must hear: Someone, In A State, Paper Dreams (and seriously every other song they're all great)
- Mayday Parade - Monsters In The Closet
I've only spun this one through once so far but I know it'll be perfect when I get moody. I think you have to be in a certain mood for Mayday Parade and I haven't been there this week but it's a great album nonetheless.
- HAIM - The Wire
Only listened to this one once but I always mention iTunes' song of the week, and this was it. It is very much to my taste and I'm planning on listening to their most recent release when I get around to it!
In music news:
- The Jonas Brothers have cancelled their tour and might be breaking up. I'm not going to go into it because I'll get emotional.
- The second single off One Direction's upcoming release, "Midnight Memories" has been announced. Story Of My Life will be out October 28th. The artwork for the song and the album have been revealed and I'm not digging it but I have never liked their artwork so.
- I saw a girl at school wearing a The Maine t-shirt and I want to talk to her.
