- Modern Baseball - Sports
I have seen songs by this band reblogged on Tumblr so often so now I'm listening to them and as usual, Tumblr has great taste. They remind me a lot of The Front Bottoms, halfway between pop/punk and some gritty acoustic rock thing.
Must hear: @chl03k, Re-do - Lily Allen - Air Balloon
The second single from the upcoming album for which she filmed the video in Africa this week (?). Anyway I can't listen to this too many times because it can get annoying but in moderation I really like it, although it doesn't have the usual sarcastic undertones. - Bo Burnham - Words, Words, Words
I watched this show of his on Monday I think and now I can't stop listening to the audio. I have a problem and I listen to it in public and find myself laughing aloud on a crowded city bus. Awesome. If I had to pinpoint my sense of humour I'd say this is it. Every bit he does makes me laugh but also think.
Must hear: What's Funny, Art Is Dead - Gabrielle Aplin - Acoustic EP
Her voice is so soothing, I listened to her English Rain album a lot this past summer and now I'm back to being head over heels. It came out in 2010 but when has this list ever been 100% current songs?
Must hear: The whole thing, it's only 5 songs. - Ben Rector - Hide Away
I recognised his voice as soon as this started playing in the background of last night's episode of Pretty Little Liars and then had trouble actually paying attention to the scene because I was freaking out. - James Vincent McMorrow - Glacier
Free single of the week, very wintery if you couldn't guess by the name. Sounds like a mix of Tom Odell and something I can't figure out.
And that just about wraps it up from me. As for upcoming things, I hear Foster The People announced a thing, Tokyo Police Club released a single, and Florida Georgia Line did an iTunes session EP.
