This Week In Music: 26/09/13

I was going to post this tomorrow but I was listening to the new acoustic of For Baltimore and
"why can't Thursday last forever?" came up so here we go!

  • 5 Seconds Of Summer - Wherever You Are
I've been a huge fan of these guys for a while now and because One Direction took them under their wing on their world tour, I got to see them (twice) this summer and considering they're a fairly new band from the other side of the world, that's decent. This song is about being away from the people/person you love and getting lost in translation but still having feelings for them. They say it's dedicated to all the fans they meet & say goodbye to as they tour so that's a thing. I've been listening to this one on repeat since it came out earlier this week and I suggest you look it up. They're releasing their debut album soon and I'll surely mention it when a official date is finalized.
Sounds like: All Time Low, Yellowcard etc.
  • The Tragic Thrills - Tears
Their first single! It has a really cool sound and of course that signature voice of the one, the only, Zach Porter. They have a debut album, release TBA and I'm incredibly excited.
Sounds like: Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons
  • All Time Low - Don't Panic: It's Longer Now!
An extended version of Don't Panic, which they put out at this time last year. That was one of my favourite albums in 2012 and I really like where they went with it so I'm glad we get 4 new songs with the same theme. Plus there's 3 acoustic versions of songs from the initial album and I know that you're a sucker for anything acoustic. (I hope you got that reference?) It's streaming now on the HopelessRecords YouTube channel and is on iTunes from the 30th.
Sounds like: Do I need to tell you? You guys know All Time Low
  • Judd And Maggie - Choose
This is up for free on NoiseTrade, a site I urge you to take a look at. It has that autumn, chill, moody feel that I've been digging lately. I like Commit Or Go and Always. They switch it up each song, some sound like they could be in a Disney princess movie and some sound very new-wave.
Sounds like: The Civil Wars, Of Monsters And Men
And now for some upcoming albums that I do have dates for and I've heard about recently!

  • Lucy Spraggan - Join The Club
This girl absolutely killed it when she auditioned for X Factor UK last year and everything she puts out is brilliant. She can either break your heart or make you laugh with her lyrics and that's a unique talent. If you listen to nothing else, please listen to her song Beer Fear, it will make your day (and if you feel like crying, listen to Tea & Toast). The album comes out October 7th (I'm not sure if it comes out everywhere to be honest, but definitely the UK) and I am jazzed. To hold you over, the first single from the album, Lighthouse, is out now.
    Sounds like: Ed Sheeran, http://www.last.fm/music/Lucy+Spraggan/+similar
  • James Arthur - Self Titled
Funnily enough, he was on the same season of X Factor as Lucy, but he won. He's got a new single out, You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You and can I just say his voice is so rough and badass. He's badass. November 4th is when it's available to buy!
That's all I have for this week, see you soon!
